    The series of “Blissful land” came to a close on May 28th. Shanghai Himalayas Museum will have the internal upgrading and transformation from today to this September.   • Opening Hours Adjustment

    Due to the maintenance of art works and facilities, the visiting hours of exhibition Blissful Land: Into the Depth of Statues & Murals will be adjusted (since March 12, 2018) as follow: 10:00 - 18:00, Tuesday to Sunday (last admission: 17:00) ; closed on every Monday.

    Please alternate your visit time accordingly and we sincerely hope you have a good time during your visit!

  • Opening Hours During the Spring Festival 2018

    Shanghai Himalayas Museum will be temporarily closed from 15th February to 16th February, and reopen at its usual time on 17th February.

    Festival Tickets are required during 17th February to 21st February, please go to the ticket office to get more information.

    “Miracle: The Bellini Family and the Renaissance” has been increasingly popular since its opening on September. To maintain the exhibits and provide a better visiting experience for the audience, Shanghai Himalayas Museum will be temporarily closed at 15th January, 2018. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

  • Exhibition Extends

    In response to popular demands from the public, CURRENT: Contemporary Art from Scotland Phase Three exhibition will be extended to 14th November, 2017. During this period, a workshop will be held at Shanghai Himalayas Museum, to help visitors gain a better understanding of the distinctiveness of contemporary art made in Scotland, its grass-roots spirit and keen debates with the social dimensions of art and culture.

    Announcing the 2016 Himalayas x Gwangju Artists in Residence

    After a month-long open call for the Shanghai Himalayas Museum Artist-in-Residences 2016 Gwangju Program, we are pleased to announce that we have selected two gifted Chinese artists, Shanghai-based Xu Zhifeng and Beijing-based Xie Yi, from the 49 applications we received, to embark on a journey to Korea as this years artists in residence.

    Congratulations to the two artists and a warm thank-you to all the artists who applied for the open call.

    1983 born Xu Zhifeng is an interdisciplinary artist based in Shanghai and holds a bachelor of architecture from the College of Fine Arts of Shanghai University.
